The construction on the Tiger Band Hall seems to be coming along. There is a second smaller building (I'm not sure what it is for) and a tower by the practice field (where the band director can observe the field show rehearsal). I'll post some pictures when construction is finished.
This weekend I went to the Society for Music Theory national conference in Indianapolis with several people from LSU. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun and even got to see a bunch of friends and professors from FSU, but now I'm very tired! I will be posting some more pictures of Indianapolis soon (that my friend took with his much better camera).
I got this video of Mike the Tiger swimming this morning. Getting good pics and videos of him is luck of the draw (tigers do sleep about 18-20 hours a day!), but I will keep trying to get some good ones to post.
We went to Spooky Science at LSU after soccer this morning. Holly had a lot of fun learning about science, and two people said that she had the natural curiosity of a scientist, because she asked lots of questions about how things worked.
LSU had a Halloween Fest today. Holly went and made several crafts including the black cat in the picture. She also painted a pumpkin and went trick-or-treating. She had a really good time.
It was an empty field when we got to Baton Rouge, but the Tiger Band Hall that they are building across the street is starting to take shape. I'm hoping they will have practice rooms that I can go over and use. Of course, I have an electric keyboard in my apartment, but it's difficult to play when the TV's on, etc.
I didn't have school today, so Kari and I decided to visit the Belle of Baton Rouge casino. I was excited that they have my favorite slot machine "Robin Hood's Sherwood Treasure." We only played for a few minutes and won $7.80.
We went to the Baton Rouge Zoo today! It was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of animals. It's much smaller than the KC Zoo, but that is fine because we got to see a lot of animals without getting too tired from walking.
